John Kulick and Bill Barnes won at Lake Anna. They brought 5 fish to the scales for a total weight of 13.09#, with a 4.23# kicker. Joe Bandish and Darrell Talastas took home a second place check, as well as big fish. They had 10.49 pounds total with a 5.02 pound big fish. Third place went to last event’s winners, Mike Boitnott and Taylor McCann who had 10.26 pounds.
This event was originally scheduled to be fish on the Rappahannock River, but due to excessive rainfall, the river flooded the week before this event, and was loaded with debris. As a safety precaution, the event was moved to Lake Anna and the tournament launched from Sturgeon Creek Marina.
It was a tough day fishing on Lake Anna. Air temperatures were in the mid to upper 90’s, and our members had to fight typical Lake Anna boat traffic all day.
The next tournament is July 14th on the Pamunkey River. That event is a reschedule of the cancelled May event on the Chickahominy River.
