Father-son team, Jack and Andrew Patterson, won the Battlefield Bass Anglers season opening tournament on Lake Anna. With a limit weighing in at 16.60 lbs, including the Big Fish of the tournament at 6.60 lbs, the duo had a 5 lb gap on second place. Scott Favors and Matt Bradshaw were the second place team with a 5 fish limit of 11.55 lbs. The only other team to land a limit on Saturday, was George Polachak and Scott Schumann, with an 8.30 lb bag.
The fact that only three teams landed a limit on Saturday, is a testament to the tough fishing conditions at Lake Anna. The water was between 45 – 55 degrees, depending on how far up river you went. Also, the clarity of the lake varied from clear, to muddy. Air temperatures only got into the mid 60s without any clouds in sight. As usual on Lake Anna, there were some gusty winds, making holding your spot without Power Poles or Talons, a bit more difficult.
Next up is the Potomac for Batt lefield Bass Anglers and Region 1 on Saturday, April 21st.
